A propeller is the main form of locomotion for an airship. Requires an engine for power.
Airships do not necessarily need a balloon for lift. Propellers require power and provide a smaller lift, but balloons are much larger and more difficult to protect.
Propellers will detect obstructions within 34 blocks from the base.
How Lift Works[ | ]
Each unit of ship mass causes 70 points of weight, which must be counteracted by buoyancy or vertical thrust. The vertical thrust listed in ship stats is "net thrust", after cancelling any un-buoyed weight (if this value is negative, ship stats will list it as zero, which might mean your ship will plummet).
NetThrust = GrossThrust - (70*Mass - Buoyancy)
